Obituary of Wayne Donald Morris
It is with profound sadness that we announce the loss of our beloved Wayne, who passed away peacefully on April 26, 2026 at Lakeridge Health Oshawa at the age of 85. He was a kind soul who enriched our lives with his love, humour, and compassion. He is lovingly remembered by his wife and companion of 20 years, Colleen Robb. He was predeceased by his previous wives Gayle Hewson, Catherine Morris (Ham), and Miriam Peck.
Wayne Donald Morris was born in Bradford, Ontario, on March 19, 1941 to Meryl and Ruth Morris. Wayne often spoke proudly of his father having served in the Canadian military with the Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry before being discharged in 1945. Wayne was predeceased by his brother Eugene Morris and sister Irma Woodhouse, and is survived by his sister Ardis Harris of Midhurst, Ontario.
Wayne was a loving father to Mark (Cathy), Kimberly (James), and Jeffrey. He will also be dearly missed by his stepchildren Diana (Dan), Wendy (Ray), Kelly (Rob), Martin (Karen), and Kevin.
He was a cherished Papa to his grandchildren Daniel, Isla, Finn, Ben, Tristan, and Elle, as well as his step-grandchildren Mark, Amanda, Andrew, and Karly. Wayne was also a proud great-grandfather to Hailey and Kinsley(deceased), and a step great-grandfather to Toryne, Savannah, and Arthur.
Wayne held many interesting positions throughout his career, such as delivering food to planes with Wardair, taxi driving, land surveying, and delivering oxygen tanks to hospitals. He later found his calling with the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC), where he worked as a bus driver out of the Wilson Division for over 20 years. Following his retirement, Wayne settled in Bancroft before eventually meeting Colleen and relocating to Oshawa, where they built a life together.
Wayne was a proud Canadian with a deep appreciation for military history, western films, cars, playing cards, bowling, and gadgets. Known for his storytelling, he could often be found relaxing with a glass of oak-aged red wine, sharing memories and laughter with those around him.
Wayne will be deeply missed and forever remembered by his family and friends.
