Tricia Ann MacLeod
It is with shattered hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend, Tricia Ann MacLeod, age 54, on October 12, 2026, at Lakeridge Health, Oshawa Hospital.
Born in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia, Tricia was the daughter of the late Ernie and Ruby (Cathcart) Jewells. While employed with LoFood in Glace Bay, Tricia started working as a nanny, a role she embraced for many years and one that truly reflected her kind, nurturing, and compassionate nature.
Tricia devoted many years to caring for children in both Glace Bay and Ontario, becoming a cherished member of several families along the way. Every child she cared for held a special place in her heart, and she treasured the relationships that continued long after they had grown into adulthood. Her nurturing spirit knew no bounds. Tricia welcomed her daughter Jorja's friends as though they were her own, offering kindness, support, laughter, and unconditional love to all who knew her.
Left to mourn her loss are her loving husband of 28 years, George; her cherished daughter, Jorja (Séamus); and their beloved dog, Louie, affectionately known as "Louisbourg Lou." She is also survived by her sister, Tracey; sisters-in-law, Kathy and Corrie; brothers-in-law, Brent and Lorne (Annette); as well as several nieces and nephews: Matt (Jordan), Evan, Ernie (Jennifer), Jeff (Amber), Andrea (Glen), Justin (Laura), Kayla, and Ricky (Tamara). She will also be deeply missed by her grandnieces and grandnephews: Sadie, Parker, Dallas, Colson, Rylan, Karis, Aliviah, Jaxon, Ricky, and Cole. Also mourning her loss is Paige, Jorja's dear friend, who became a cherished member of the family and held a special place in Tricia’s heart.
Besides her parents, Tricia was predeceased by her brother, Ernie Jewells, and her parents-in-law, George and Margaret MacLeod.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the Palliative Care team, EHS, and the nurses and staff of C6 at Lakeridge Health for their compassionate care. Special thanks are also extended to the Childerhose and Semeniuk families, Lindell Cummings, TerriLynn and Mike Hogan, Shane Dawe, Kathy MacLeod, and Beverley Ambler for the love, friendship, and support shown to Tricia, George, and Jorja throughout this difficult journey.
Cremation has taken place. In accordance with Tricia's wishes, there will be no visitation. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Details will be shared when available.
