Robert Simpson French

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Robert Simpson French on August 2, 2026.

Born June 2, 1939, in Hamilton, Ontario, Robert grew up on a farm and carried with him throughout his life the values of family, hard work, kindness, and love. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather whose strength, guidance, and caring nature touched everyone who knew him.

Robert was predeceased by his beloved wife, Shirley. He leaves behind his loving children, Tracy (Ed), Diane (Henry), and Rick (Alice); his cherished grandchildren Jaxon, Jared, Cherise, Christina, Michael, Samantha, Tedesi, Sonja, and Selena; and 10 great-grandchildren.

One of Robert’s greatest joys, apart from his family, was racing motor cars. He treasured those days and loved sharing the stories and memories of his racing years with his family.

During his later years, Robert was lovingly supported by his daughter Tracy, whose dedication, compassion, and care meant so much to him. The family would also like to extend their sincere gratitude to Hampton Terrace Nursing Home for the exceptional care, kindness, and support they provided to Robert and his family.

A private Celebration of Robert’s Life will be held for family at a later date.
