Robert Warren Busch
August 4, 1953 – January 7, 2026
At 72 years of age, Robert “Bob” Warren Busch passed away suddenly on January 7, 2026, at Southlake Hospital in Newmarket from a heart attack.
Bob was predeceased by his parents, Leonard Busch and Shirley Bidwell Busch, along with numerous beloved family members, including his favourite uncle, Warren (“Biddy”). He is now reunited with many dear friends and his cherished fur babies, Sister, Boo, and Sapphira, who were surely waiting to welcome him home.
Bob is lovingly remembered by his devoted wife of 36 years, Lynn. He will be deeply missed by his brothers Hal (Sylvia), Lauren, Leonard, and Brad, and by their spouses, children, and grandchildren. He is also survived by Tim (Anne), Gates, Nats, Jessica, and Angelle, along with their spouses, children, and grandchildren; Rick (Ellie), Amy, and Denis and their grandchildren; and Terry, Jamie, and Amanda.
Bob will be especially missed by his mother-in-law, Francine, with whom he shared a very special bond.
Bob also had “brothers of his heart,” friendships formed early in life that became family in every sense. Frank Dainty and his family were a second home to Bob. Known by many names throughout his life, some called him Bobby, others from his early days called him Bushy, but everyone could simply call him friend.
How does one summarize 72 years of a life so fully lived? Bob was lion-hearted, courageous, determined, stubborn in the best way, outspoken, and undeniably kind. Despite numerous injuries that could have ended his journey much earlier, Bob rose every day and never gave up. There was no quit in him, a true testament to his strength of will.
In his younger years, Bob loved motorcycles and fast cars, but his greatest passion was fishing. He was happiest sitting in a boat, spending time on the water, being outdoors with his brothers, and sharing his knowledge with his nephews and nieces. These moments were priceless to him.
He had a wide circle of friends who shared his love for the outdoors. Bob adored walking with his dogs, loved all animals, and treasured time spent visiting with friends, enjoying great food, cold beers, good music, and plenty of laughter. He will be deeply and profoundly missed.
Lynn also wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to the staff at Southlake Hospital for their kindness and compassionate care of Bob in his final hours. To all of his doctors, deepest gratitude is offered, and a very special thank you to his home care nurses. We were truly blessed to have known you.
In accordance with Bob’s wishes, there will be no funeral service. A celebration of a life well lived will be held at a later date. Details to be announced.
