It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved Melissa Ryann, which occurred on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at Oak Ridges Hospice in Port Perry, ON. She went peacefully, holding the hand of her beloved partner, Mitchell Laforme, and her dog Bethany, by her side as she went to meet our Lord. A bright, joyful, generous spirit, she exhibited great love and compassion in every word and deed; she was a friend to the "friendless", champion for the underdog, and everyday hero whose super power was honesty and kindness. She was our gift from heaven, on loan to us for a time. She will be missed beyond words. 

We are thankful to all who have supported her and her family during this difficult time, especially to her medical team at Sunnybrook Hospital, the Odette Cancer Centre, and Oak Ridges Hospice for their exceptional treatment, care, and support of Ryann and her family during this journey. We are especially grateful to Dr. Helen MacKay, Dr. Giovanna Sirianni, Dr. Javin Sandhu, Dr. Matt Yau, Dr. Weiss, and the many nurses, healthcare providers, and volunteers who aided in her comfort and care. We have no words to express our gratitude to each and every one of you.
