Dr. Louis Jackson
Lee
December 15, 1937 – April 12, 2026
It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of Dr. Louis Jackson Lee, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He departed peacefully in his sleep on April 12th, 2026, at The Hill House Hospice, at the age of 88, after succumbing to complications of a stroke that he suffered in the summer of 2023.
Louis was born on December 15th, 1937, in the town of Old Harbour in Jamaica, The West Indies. He leaves behind his loving wife Claudette (nee Woon) of 65 years, their children Gary (Carolyn), Mark (Saylor), Suzanne, and Philip. His legacy continues through his cherished grandchildren, Madeline, Cassandra, Nicholas, Ryann, Kendall, Isabel, and Abigail, and his great-grandchildren Thomas, Charlie, Nickolas, and Leah.
He was the second born of eight children; brother of George (predeceased) (Kitty) Lee, Albert (predeceased) (Val) Lee, Hubert “Khus”(Jan) Lee, Stanley “Sonny” (Shirley) Lee, Rosie (John - predeceased) Soong, Leila (Jim) LuChen, Pauline Sanchez (predeceased).
Louis took great pride in his chosen vocation as a Family Physician, and he did so for a combined 48 years between Jamaica and Canada. He was respected and loved by his patients and the communities in which he served with compassion and dedication.
After his retirement in 2008, he became an avid golfer and had time to pursue his love of gardening. He took great pride in growing his famous variety of Scotch Bonnet peppers alongside his daylilies, many fruit trees, tomatoes, beans, callaloo, and Jamaican thyme. He was athletic and a loyal fan of The Toronto Blue Jays and really all sports in general. He should be remembered most for his unwavering dedication, pride, and love for his family.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the Doctors, Nurses, Neuro Physiotherapists, Support Staff and Volunteers of The Scarborough Birchmount Hospital, The Hill House Hospice, and The York Rehab Associates for their attentive and compassionate care of Louis.
