Jane Calleri

November 9, 1982 — March 1, 2026

Jane passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with breast cancer, surrounded by loving friends she considered family.

She is survived by her husband Vinnie, her son Nico, her mother, Susan, her brother, Matthew (Jenn), extended family and countless friends who were blessed to know her. She was predeceased by her father, Michael.

Jane lived a life admired by those who knew her best. She chose adventure, love, spontaneity, and fun at every opportunity. She had a rare gift for living in the moment and trusting the journey, always creating adventures as she went. In doing so, she taught those around her to shrug it off or laugh at the small stuff, spread joy, and love with intention and without hesitation.

Jane’s warmth and openness made everyone feel like family, and her bond with those she loved was truly something special. She will be remembered for the simple and beautiful things like the sight of a gingko tree, the taste of a margarita, the flash of a hummingbird, the glow of a sunset over the ocean, the sound of crashing waves or a heavy rainfall. Her spirit lives on in laughter shared, tight hugs, and spontaneous adventures.

Jane was a devoted and loving wife to her husband, Vinnie, whose strength, patience, and unwavering care carried their family through the most difficult days. She was a deeply proud and adoring mother to her son, Nico, who was the light of her life. Jane left this world knowing that Nico will be raised with intention, tenderness, resilience, and a life filled with adventure and love by the village that surrounds him.

Though our hearts are heavy, we honor Jane by choosing joy, noticing the beauty in small moments, and living fully — just as she taught us.

A celebration of Jane’s life will be held in Halifax at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family invites you to honor Jane by saying yes to something spontaneous, dancing to your favorite song, or gathering with loved ones to watch the sunset, share a drink or a laugh. Donations can be made to the Margaret Bahen Hospice in Newmarket or the Nankind charity.
