It is with deep sadness that the family of Karol Ruth Jones (nee Buchmann,Timmins,ON) announces her peaceful passing on December 6th, 2025 at the age of 86 in Pickering,ON.

Karol was preceded in death by her beloved husband, (Evan d.1992); her sister, Jenny Anne; and her brothers, Peter and David.

She is lovingly remembered by her children: son Evan, son Robin and his wife Jen, and daughter Sara and her husband Marc. She will be dearly missed by her four grandchildren, Nadia, Lauren, Natasha, and Gavin, who brought her immense joy.

Karol was a devoted school teacher who spent over 40 years teaching with the Toronto School Board, with the majority of those years at Givens-Shaw Elementary.

Karol was an awesome mom. She ensured every summer was packed with fun and adventure for her three kids at her favorite spot on earth: the family cottage at Nellie Lake. She filled their days with swimming lessons, hours spent in the lake, biking and blueberry picking . Nellie Lake was her absolute "happy place," where she cherished her close friends and swam every chance she could get.

Karol had a special gift for making everyone feel like they’d been friends forever. To her, everyone was simply a friend she just hadn’t met yet.

The family wishes to extend heartfelt gratitude to every doctor, nurse, and support staff at Princess Margaret Hospital, the staff at Princess Margaret Lodge, as well as the nursing care at Ajax Hospital. Their combined compassion and dedicated care significantly eased her journey. Your kindness is deeply appreciated by our entire family.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 2 pm to 4 pm on Sunday January 18, 2026, at Mount Pleasant Funeral Centre, 375 Mount Pleasant Rd, Toronto, ON.
