Judith (Judy) Delight Weaver (nee Paton), the dynamic centre of the Weaver family, was born on January 27, 1941 in Noranda, Quebec to Harold Paton and Gwen Moore. Mourning her passing are her lifelong best friend, husband Wayne and sons Jonathan (Cathie), Markham; Tim, Barrie; Robert (Johanna) Toronto and adoring grandsons Thomas, Campbell and Jude. Also, brothers Scott (Janice) of Thorold and Brock (Cathie) of Osoyoos, BC; as well as sister-in-law Donna Weaver of Burlington and nieces and nephews and their respective families in Ontario, Finland, Alberta, BC, Yukon, Dubai and New England.

A life well lived as a talented teacher with varied assignments including abused teenaged girls and incarcerated teenaged boys in a halfway house in south Muskoka; a golf club member in Kapuskasing and Bracebridge (and competitor in tournaments in North Bay, Sudbury and Chateau Montebello). Also a competitive bonspieling curler and organizer (President OLCA and honorary life member OCA); and active in the community as a Kinette, Rotaryann, hospital auxiliary president and board member, Victim Services volunteer, marshal at Canadian Open when hosted at Glen Abbey, tournament official for 50 amateur championships with Golf Ontario while member at Woodlands Links, Clinton and tutor at Chi Chi Rodriguez Academy and Golf Club for 7 winters in Clearwater, Florida.

With the diagnosis of Lewy body dementia with Parkinson’s symptoms, a five year cruel affliction bringing and end to a vibrantly active life, she has fought courageously without self pity with the support of attentive caregivers and love of a family indebted to her selfless generosity as its source of positive energy. Her request for cremation has been honoured. Contributions to chosen community causes in Judy’s memory are gratefully acknowledged by the Weaver family.
