Obituary

John Michael Blasko, aged 58, of Oakville, Ontario, passed away on August 31, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and lifelong sportsmanship. Born on May 29, 1968,

John brought energy, warmth, and a competitive spirit to everyone who knew him. He was best known for his great laugh, infectious sense of humor, and his ability to light up any room. Above all else, John loved spending quality time with his family, his friends, and his beloved dog, Ellie. He was the deeply proud and loving father of his two sons, Jaxon and Jared, whom he raised alongside their mother, Tracy. John’s greatest joy in life was watching his sons grow into successful young men. He was immensely proud of both of them for pursuing university educations, taking immense pride in celebrating Jaxon's graduation from university and teachers college, and cheering on Jared as he pursued his Bachelor of Commerce degree. John was also a devoted brother to Bryan and a cherished, loving partner to his girlfriend, Maureen.

John was a sports enthusiast through and through, both as a passionate spectator and an active player. He was a die-hard fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Toronto Blue Jays, rarely missing a game and always loyally cheering on his teams. When he wasn't watching the pros, John could almost always be found out on the golf course. Golf was his true personal passion, and he spent countless happy hours perfecting his swing, enjoying the outdoors, and sharing laughs on the green.

His vibrant spirit, dedication to his loved ones, and easygoing nature will be profoundly missed by the Oakville community and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
