Joanne Marie Stevenson-Byers was born on August 18, 1963, in Kingston, Ontario. Joanne lived a life defined by warmth, kindness, and quiet strength, always putting others first. A devoted mother, sister, aunt, and friend, Joanne was the heart of the family, someone who gave her love freely and made those closest to her feel deeply cared for. Joanne passed away peacefully on March 17, 2026, at Markham Stouffville Hospital, surrounded by family.

Joanne is lovingly remembered by children, Kolby and Brittny, and sisters, Janett and Karen. Joanne was predeceased by parents, Marjorie and Herbert.

Joanne found joy in life’s simple moments. Joanne loved to sing, dance, and bring lightness to those around. Joanne cherished the holidays, always the first to open her home and gather everyone close. Around her table, every seat was filled, every plate overflowing with home-cooked recipes, and the room warmed by the love she so effortlessly shared. Joanne offered comfort through a kind word or a listening ear, and Joanne’s natural ability to support and uplift others left a lasting impression on everyone met.

Joanne’s legacy is one of compassion and selflessness, a reflection of the profound impact one person can have. Though deeply missed, Joanne’s presence lives on in the memories and love left behind.
