In Loving Memory of Franco “Frank” Amedeo Durigon
November 28, 1947 – June 20, 2026
It is with broken hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of our beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, Franco “Frank” Amedeo Durigon, on June 20, 2026, at the age of 78.
Frank was born on November 28, 1947, in Charleroi, Belgium. He later lived in Northern Italy before immigrating to Canada with his parents. The family first settled in Minto, New Brunswick, before eventually making Port Credit, Ontario their home. Later in life, Frank settled in the North Toronto area.
From the very beginning, Frank was a man with a passion for life. Music was one of his first greatest loves. At just eight years old, he began playing the accordion, and by the age of fourteen , sharing his love of music with those around him. He taught music at The Ontario Conservatory of Music during his teen years. He also formed a band called The Sands of Time, performing locally and entertaining at family events.
Frank was also a true entrepreneur. In the 1980s, he founded Century Circuits, building the company from the ground up through determination, hard work, and an incredible belief in what he could accomplish. His business was more than a job; it was a dream he poured his heart into. During this time in his life he travelled to many countries and enjoyed life to the fullest. When the manufacturing industry declined and Century Circuits closed in 2008, Frank faced the loss of something he had worked so hard to build with courage, grace, and dignity.
But those who knew Frank best will remember that his greatest qualities had little to do with business or success. Frank had a big heart and tons of charisma. He was kind, generous, and always willing to help someone in need. He often put others before himself and gave freely of his energy, and whatever he could offer. That generosity was simply part of who he was.
Frank’s life was not always easy, and he faced his share of challenges, including health struggles in his later years. Yet he continued to move forward in his own way.
Frank will be deeply missed by his four sons, Paul, Dion (Melissa), Jason (Stephanie), and Cameron; his grandchildren, Kyle and Hayley; his sister, Gabriella; and his brother, Sergio (Rosanne). He will also be lovingly remembered by his niece and nephews and their families.
There are so many things we will remember about Frank: his gregarious personality, his love of music and fine wine, the women he loved in his life, his pool and billiards skills, his interest in cars, his love of animals, his take charge attitude, his entrepreneurial spirit, his many inventions, his determination, his stories and strong opinions on just about every topic of conversation, his generosity, and the many ways he was there for the people he cared about.
Although he is no longer with us, the memories he gave us will remain.
We will miss you more than words can say.
You will always be loved.
You will always be remembered.
Rest peacefully.
