Erwin Otto Maier
Erwin was a popular and beloved individual. He always had a smile, and he wanted to help whoever he could.
In 1988, Erwin became a nurse at St Michael's Hospital. He loved his job at the Neuro Trauma ICU - the variety of things to do, training new people, and most especially, all the dedicated staff who he became friends with. He cherished the after work get-togethers. Unfortunately, circumstances changed and he had to leave his job after 32 years.
Erwin had many friends outside his job - his friends at the dog park, childhood friends, and friends he met playing hockey. He was always surrounded by people he shared his joys with.
Erwin traveled the world, and saw amazing sights, having had wonderful experiences. He was blessed to travel with his wife Erica of 35 years.
He had a wonderful full life that he would have loved to continue, but his health deteriorated quickly.
Erwin was a happy and joyful person, and he will be missed by all who knew him. He will be in our hearts forever.
