Born in Toronto, April 15, 1944 to Ivan and Helen Flatman. Sister of the late Helen Smith, the late Arthur Flatman, and the late Joan Wells. Aunt to Leslie Smith, Matthew Smith, Jim Weller, Caitlin Weller, and Alexander Weller, Mark Flatman and Andrew Flatman. Sister-in-law to Margaret Flatman. Wife of her cherished late husband David Bernard Harrel (Lt, US Navy, of British Town) Mother of Hugh Nicholas Harrel and mother-in-law of Dahlia Gross of Toronto. Proud grandmother of Matthew and Will Harrel.

Claudia was both a psychiatric social worker in Chicago & Manhattan during the 1960s & ’70s, and a writer of several novels. Later in her life, she became an artist who worked in pencil, ink, and pastels. An active volunteer all her life in animal rights and mental health.
