Barbara Joan Farrar

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Barbara Joan Farrar (nee Loader) after a short but valiant fight against pancreatic cancer on September 26, 2025 at the age of 68.

Barbara was a beloved wife to Stephen Farrar, who was her best friend and loving companion for almost 35 years, a cherished mother to Christine Marchetti (Bryan), Michael Bahrey (Lisa), Lisa Marie Bahrey, and Harrison Gemmiti (Robert), and a proud Gramma to Charlotte, Olivia, William and Sammy, who were the light of her life. She was also a loving sister to her brother Norman Loader (Anita Lanning) and sister Lisa Bahrey (Greg Bozzer), and is predeceased by her parents Rheta Lillian Loader and Kenneth James Loader, whom she dearly missed.

Barbara’s life was defined by her strong work ethic, loyalty, and dedication. She spent almost 30 years with Toronto Hydro, where she was known for her professionalism and dependability. She had a determination and pride for her work, qualities that reflected the integrity she carried into all aspects of her life.

Outside of work, Barbara loved snowmobiling alongside her husband. Together, they shared countless adventures on the trails, surrounded by the beauty of winter. Above all, Barbara’s heart belonged to her family. Her four grandchildren were her pride and joy, and she cherished every moment spent with them.

Barbara will be remembered for her kindness, her strength, and the love she gave so freely. Her memory will live on through her family and all those fortunate enough to have known her.
