Ann Olwyn Griffin
December 11, 1969 — April 20, 2026
Ann tragically passed on April 20, 2026 at Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto. Ann was the youngest child of Kathleen and Roy Griffin (pre-deceased) and sister to Andrew. Born on December 11, 1969, she came into the world with kindness and wonder. Ann’s parents were from England and she was very proud of her heritage.
Ann started early at The Bishop Strachan School, in their junior school, and stayed through graduation in 1988. She made lifelong friends at BSS, and loved her experience in such a supportive community.
Ann was an avid traveler and would not turn down a chance for adventure. With her passport and traveler’s checks, she would never hesitate to get on a plane and see the world. She regularly went to England to visit her family and her beloved Aunt Joan, and she was happiest when planning her next trip.
Ann loved to dance and sing and was passionate about music. Ann was the first on the dance floor and the last off. She learned about music from her brother, Andrew, and then adopted her own style. She would listen to his records, explore the albums and connect with her British origin. She loved going to concerts and memorizing every lyric. Music was her joy.
Ann went on to pursue her degree in geography at Waterloo, with her plan to live out her dream as an elementary school teacher. She taught for the majority of her career and also continued to travel and see the world. Ann picked up downhill skiing, overcame her fears of heights and speed, and loved trying new things.
Ann cherished the friendships she made throughout her life, enjoying many trips in Ontario and abroad with Diane and cottage weekends with Sarah.
She also loved visiting her brother Andrew, sister-in-law Lara, and her beloved nephews, Henry and Thomas, in Peterborough. Being a devoted auntie brought Ann great joy, and she took every opportunity to spoil her boys.
Ann will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and those that were lucky enough to know her.
Forever in our hearts.
Gone too soon.
Rest in Peace.
