Angela “Angie” May Dawson

Angela “Angie” May Dawson, born in Leeds, England, passed away surrounded by love, leaving behind a legacy of joy, laughter, and deep connection to family and friends.

Angie was a devoted mother to Emily Newell and the biological mother of Paul Picken and Jason Picken. She was the beloved mother of Emily with her late former partner, Stephen C. Zari, a cherished mother-in-law to Brett Newell, and a proud grandmother to Benjamin Newell and Jade Newell. She later found love with the late Ian Youldon, her final spouse, who was a devoted and caring partner.

She was the beloved daughter of the late Hazel Cullen and the late Fred Dawson, and stepdaughter of the late Patrick Cullen. Angie will be deeply missed by her siblings Glenn Dawson, Keith Dawson, Noel Dawson, and David Cullen, along with many extended family members and friends.

Known to most simply as Angie, she was joyful, positive, and full of humour. She was social, kind-hearted, and a friend to all. To many of Emily’s friends, Angie was more than a second mother — she was simply “Mom.” She loved music, dancing, and singing, was always up for anything, and enjoyed playing cards with friends, as well as puzzles and games with her grandchildren.

Angie will be remembered for her warmth, her laughter, and the many lives she touched. Her love and spirit live on in all who knew her.
